Diamond cutting techniques have developed over several hundreds of years. Generally, there are two types of diamonds cuts. A Mixed Cut is a combination of both Step and Brilliant Cuts.
Diamond cuts can be generally categorized into ideal cut diamond , Premium Cut, Very Good Cut, Good Cut, Good Cut and Fair-Poor Cut.
The Ideal Cut is designed to maximum the diamond's brilliance. This cut gives a diamond a great deal of light dispersion. Diamonds having this cut are the most expensive.
The Very Good Cut makes diamonds reflects a lot of light entering them.

Understanding The Cut
The cut of a diamond is much more than just the exterior shape of the diamond. When people comment that someone's diamond engagement ring "is blinding," they are referring to the cut. An ideal cut is the top of the grading system followed by a premium cut, a very good cut, a good cut, a fair cut and a poor one.
